Roosters are busy cock-a-doodling,
Chickens kick up their heals,
For a joyful “chicken dance,”
Pigs are rolling in the mud,
Happier than clams,
Cows are peacefully mooing in the fields,
And goats graze without a care,
Sheep count their blessings,
As they close their eyes to sleep…
It’s the turkeys who are sitting ducks now.
On this special, (fateful) “Thanksgiving Day,”
As you gather with your loved ones,
If, in your heart and mind,
Trouble is still brewing…
Turn your sights to your turkey,
The star of your feast…
And be grateful,
Oh so grateful,
This day,
Not to be!

“Happy Thanksgiving!”
Lol.I so wouldn’t want to turn turkey now. Very humorous poem with thought-provoking threads that unravel, revealing currents I would not have thought of earlier.
