My Dear God, Gratitude Letter

                                                     

                    Because my soul’s destiny is held securely in Your hands,

                    I thank You.

                    Because the sunlight’s gentle warmth,

                    Streams lightly across my face,

                     I thank You.

                    Because the birds sweetest songs,

                    Chime gently on my ear drums,

                    I thank You.

                    Because I have a soft, safe resting space,

                    To call home,

                    I thank You.

                    Because I have family and friends,

                    Who brighten and lighten my load,

                    I thank You.

                    Because I have strong health, life-giving breath,

                    And the capacity to do good this day,

                    I thank You.

                    Of the many wonderful things life

                    Has offered me thus far,

                    The greatest of these, is Your

                     Unconditional love,

                     Without which I’d have nothing,

                     Know nothing and be nothing at all.
