Forgiving PRESENCE

I pledge my allegiance,

To the one who sits with me.

No-one, no-thing, but Everything.

Never short of time,

Never out of patience,

Not a moment late…

LORD’S PRESENCE.

Never tires of my endless declarations,

Repeat indecisions, or wearisome repitition,

My lack of faith, lack of hope,

Or just basic lack,

My longheld sorrows,

My steady stream of questions, and arduous seeking.

You never seem to mind my trouble,

With accepting, believing and being,

In Your Loving Presence.

Divine Presence sits and waits,

For our attention…

Relaxed, eager, forever alert, demanding nothing…

Like a puppy by his master’s side.

Funny, You Lord and Master,

Wait on us.

Incredible Shrinking Souls

Did you ever stop to wonder,

How a baby’s smile,

And glistening eyes,

Can brighten the lives,

Of everyone in the room?

I imagine their soul, ten feet tall,

Uncontainable, shining

Light stretching out,

Far and wide,

To touch even the saddest soul.

Precious and rare,

As a flower in full bloom,

Accepting sun’s rays,

Trusting, loving,

No judgements perceived.

Joyful and carefree,

Loving without restraint.

Tell me, can’t you feel,

The brilliant light,

They emanate?

Often as we age,

Our light grows dim.

 Souls shrinking up,

Curling in tight,

Small as a baby.

Many souls shut down completely,

In protection,

From all they know and see,

Avoiding painful blows,

Of disappointment, dishonor, despair.

The world we live in,

Is not known,

For maintaining,

Larger than life,

Open wide souls.

The next time you see a baby,

Stop to soak in their light.

Be reminded what it means,

To live with grand exuberance,

Heart and soul open wide.

Know you are witnessing a miracle.

I do believe,

Souls shrink as we grow,

So remember to keep sending extra love,

To everyone,

Everywhere you go!

Seasons of Love and Hope

God’s love cannot be held in any container,

But permeates out to touch us,

Pouring forth like sunlight.

Maybe we can’t always feel the warmth,

Directly on our skin,

As we do in the summer of our lives;

As the Summer sun warms us,

Like no other season.

There’s a million sad stories in the world,

Every one, to me, a thing of beauty;

Stories of our fragility and our humanity.

Somehow the Springing forth of new life,

Or new love, like the first bud from a Winter‘s thaw,

Will  always capture my hope and imagination.

The most beautiful gift a human does possess,

Is the power within, to keep loving,

  In spite of a Fall.

These are the stories I never grow weary,

Of seeing or reading or hearing,

  Like an Adele love song.

God’s Love Song

I view serendipity as the loving gestures,

Of One Romantic Universe;

A love song of sorts,

Moving and pulsing through the air;

Little chance happenings,

That touch my soul,

And raise my spirits,

In perfect time.

A child says, “I love you,”

When  I feel broken,

And depleted,

Yet hide it with a smile.

A rose falls,

At my feet,

When not wanting to take,

One step more.

A bird stops to sing in my ear,

With encouraging little tweets.

(There are birds of many feathers,

Including all of you here!)

There are days when God’s sweet,

Love notes,

Won’t register,

Clear and fine and true,

But once I turn down,

 The noise and static,

In my brain,

And listen with care,

God’s loving verse plays,

Strong and sure,

A melodious accompaniment,

To my day…

Both delightful,

And sublime.

A Cupful of Heart Memories

I don’t see life,

As a race to collect,

More and more experiences,

For the simple sake,

Of collecting them;

Only to be kept crumpled up,

In old worn out pockets,

Or locked away,

In dark, dusty closets.

Experiences need to be

Savored slowly,

Felt deeply,

And stored safely…

Turning otherwise,

Lost moments,

Into warm memories,

Tenderly cupped,

In open and loving hearts.

God’s Loving Gaze

Lips,

Eyes,

Hair,

Skin,

My human (body) form,

Inside and out;

You see this,

And so much more…

Heart,

Mind,

Soul,

You see me,

In my entirety;

In my grandeur,

And frailty,

My successes,

And crushing failures,

Whether I’m smooth sailing,

With the wind behind,

Or swimming upstream,

Paddle-less.

Even when I’m standing still,

Or laying desperate,

Broken and defeated,

On the ground,

The whole world rushing by…

You see me.

Holding me steadfast,

In your loving gaze,

You see me as I am,

And I rise like a new day,

Warmed by the light,

Of the sun.

Thank God, You see me.
