Imperfect Mom

Dads may offer kids a leg up,

And moms always got their back,

But a mom’s love is that which is beyond compare.

Speaking as a mom I must admit,

I mess up a bit,

But that’s ok because…

I’mperfect as is.

With one little apostrophe,

There’s so much possibility!

From Impossible to I’mpossible,

From Impatient to I’mpatient,

From Imperfect to I’mperfect,

From Imbalanced to I’mbalanced.

Remember moms to embrace your perfect imperfection,

Because you’re doing great!

Mother

 Virgin Mary,

Ms. Divine Feminine,

Mother Earth,

And Earth Mothers alike…

You are the birth of life,

For countless shapes and types,

You are the shelter for pain,

You are the love sustained.

Beautiful and divine,

Or raw and unrefined,

Makes no difference,

A mother’s love is purely sublime.

Lovingly dedicated to my own beautiful mother,

The Effects of Angel Dust

Perhaps treading too lightly

To shake up world history books,

But just a flicker of your glistening light,

And your whisper soft words,

Keep spirits afloat.

Protecting broken hearts from

Crumbling or numbing,

Advocate for the invisible,

Oft’ neglected soul,

You reclaim their royal significance.

This humble witness proclaims,

“You’ve made your mark!”

…For a healing dose of your angel dust,

Remains sprinkled upon,

My ever grateful heart.

(Dedicated to my mom on Mother’s Day, and all the other beautiful soul warriors out there…You know who you are!!!)
