For My Son

God broke off

a piece of the sun,

when He sent,

my son.

Passionate and fiery,

such a brilliant light!

Bursting ball of energy,

of creativity, of love.

Beams of exuberance,

dance from his eyes,

while streams of joy,

trail his laughter.

A smile to capture,

and warm the heart,

of every storm cloud,

passing through dreary skies…

Sharing this “humaling,”

for my son.

Love, Your Mom

A Letter of Longing

Dear Lord,

This place with many,

              Neither happy, loved or free,

 Away from here,

    Won’t You please take me!

I’m tired of the pain that surrounds,

Dear Lord, why must this be?

When I long for sunny faces,

Of singers crooning,

Children laughing,

    Lover’s swooning,

People dancing,

     Flowers blooming,

           Poet’s minds wandering,

          Senior citizens meandering,

Economy booming,

  No need for pandering,

  Starlight flickering,

Fiddlers fiddling,

No more bickering!

   Days of joy,

   For future generations,

   This poet’s letter is

   My pagsamo.

   Love, me.

Word of the day, Day 9-pagsamo (n.) The act of pleading

Waves of Forgiveness

Your heart like tranquil waters,

Smooth sailing,

On peaceful seas,

Suddenly halted,

By the crashing wave,

Of my outburst.

Set adrift,

By my choppy undercurrent;

The life inside your heart,

Now as tepid water,

Stagnant and clipped…

Thankfully raised up,

In the wake of,

My amends.

Your waves of forgiveness,

Soothe my silakbo.

Muni-Muni (I Ponder)

Does the sun muni-muni,

of moonbeams, whose cool rays,

reflect the starry night?

Do night skies,

no longer star struck,

muni-muni over the majesty of day,

where children laugh and play?

What of stifling desert breezes,

and frigid arctic air,

do they dream of switching places,

a momentary relief?

Does a bee ever wish,

 a flower to be, or a flower a bee;

a pollination and germination,

reversal?

I wonder how it’d be,

with no question left unanswered,

life’s mysteries unraveled?

 No words to write,

no dreams to dream,

or songs to sing…

A world without muni-muni,

at least for me.

Kalinaw-serenity or tranquility

Your love is,

Like a,

Peaceful garden,

Where butterflies freely,

Stretch out their,

Fragile wings,

And rest their weary heads,

On a bed,

Of tranquility.
